Hunting and identity

This work explores the duality of identity and emotional transformation. In the work, two figures with masks inspired by Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain, face a giant heart, evoking the connection between the ancestral and the personal. The rain god mask represents power, nature and transformation, while the giant heart symbolizes emotion and deep love. The interaction between the masks and the heart reveals a dialogue between the mythical and the emotional, exploring how cultural and personal identities intertwine and affect our internal experience. The piece, painted in oil on canvas, invites us to reflect on the influence of cultural traditions on the understanding and expression of the self.
